June Farm Maintenance Position

We are looking for someone who would be living at our flower farm in Three Oaks, MI June 4-22, working Monday-Thursday, 8 hour days (7am-4pm, with an hour for lunch). Heidi or Molly will be on-site about half the time, and looking to get help with this critical window of time at the farm that will be lovingly referred to as the weed prevention window.

About us: Established in 2013, Field & Florist is a two-fold business that runs a flower farm in Three Oaks, MI where we grow flowers wholesale for over 50 florists in the Chicago area/IN/MI. Growing is at the heart of who we are, and we use our flowers in much of our own event and design work that happens at our retail and design studio in Wicker Park in Chicago.


-Be over 21

-Be fit and able to lift 50 lbs

-Have a great attitude/inherent love for hard work outside in all weather.

-Be self directed and motivated to complete tasks in a timely manner.

-Be able to get yourself to Three Oaks (1.5 hrs from Chicago). Your own transportation is very helpful but not *exactly* required. It may mean you will find yourself at the farm without transportation though.


There will be a list of items that need to be completed each week, and you will have guidance for completing the tasks well. Tasks will include weeding, watering/irrigation, staking/trellising, assistance with pest management, and some harvesting.

Compensation: $1,000 for the whole term. Housing provided (with private, furnished room), and shared common areas.

Part-Time Harvest Help

We are looking for the right person to help us with harvesting at our flower farm in Three Oaks, MI every Thursday from early August through early October, from approx 8am-3pm (with half hour included for lunch). Ideally, this position is for someone who lives somewhat nearby the farm.


-Be over 21

-Have your own transportation to and from the farm for your shift

-Willing/able to work outdoors in all weather

-Be a self motivated, punctual, and focused worker with attention to detail and quality control.

-Possess a working knowledge about flowers and plants. We will teach you what you need to know for harvesting.

-Be be fit and able to lift 50 lbs.


You will be working with Heidi or Molly some weeks and others you may be on your own with a list of what to harvest,paying attention to quality for the correct number of stems and bunches and abiding by proper post-harvest handling and storage.

Compensation: $12/hour
