Eau de Parfum
Translating to “The Iron Tower Girl”, La Fille Tour de Fer is nearly a soliflore study of the rose. But not quite. In the hands of Mr. Lutens, there is always a bit of mischief and shadows at play near the edges of the frame. There’s a bit of a bite here — some have called it metallic. And unlike many other roses, we’re far away from sugary sweetness. There’s a maturity, poise and fleeting coolness not to be mistaken with detachment. Like walking swiftly past a rosebush in full bloom in a chilly autumn mist.
