Fray Ardens — Pneuma
Fray Ardens — Pneuma
Eau de Parfum
The dusty shadow alter sister-brother to the strange floral, deeply neroli’d Anima. Pneuma is named for its haunting, ensouled aether in a glass vessel. A velvet ache. A desert room with a crushed velvet door.
“If I’m honest, sandalwood smells like (the problem of) gender to me [...] It’s a smell suspended between my grandfathers’ wood shops and my grandmothers’ kitchens. While sandalwood itself would have been found in none of those spaces, it recalls the caramellic warmth of wood cut with power saws and how close that aroma can get to the toasty sweetness of a kitchen full of baking. [...]
Pneuma is a return for me to all of these memory spaces, only to find them cloaked in a purplish orange, wistful bruises, love bites, and a precipitous tilt outward. Away from. Sawdust scattered like cremation ashes. Pneuma thrums with charred fruit, masticated—falling apart, ingested, exhaled as a lick of black smoke.” — Matt Morris, Fragrantica
Pneuma is from Fray Ardens’ So Below line which also features Dusty Rose and Cactus Prick.
