Initially released in RdF’s iconic Fait Main line of limited edition experimental assemblages featuring earth’s most rare and precious materials, the Eau de Parfum format release of Green Vanille conjures an equally wonderful articulation of the natural development of vanilla orchids in the misty Caribbean heat. The green hazelnut, almond milk and blue chamomile here evoke a verdant environment of lush tropical growth unencumbered by dense humidity. There’s a crispness to the approach that feels like walking into a quiet jungle at dawn. In this way, Green Vanille carries the structural DNA that defines perfumer Alia Raza’s work across RdF. In lieu of flatly presenting a vanilla, we walk around the orchid’s habitat and come to know it in a more complex and engaging way — in conversation with the world that surrounds it.
